Wildland Firefighters with the Mississippi Forestry Commission (MFC) were able to contain a wildfire in Attala County.
According to the MFC, the wildfire burned more than 600 private forested acres. They determined the cause of the fire to be equipment use. โAs dry conditions persist this fall, we urge everyone to be extremely cautious when operating any equipment near dry grass or vegetation,โ MFC officials said. โIt only takes one spark to start a devastating wildfire.โ
