Equipment use sparks 600-acre wildfire in Attala County

Wildland Firefighters with the Mississippi Forestry Commission (MFC) were able to contain a wildfire in Attala County.

According to the MFC, the wildfire burned more than 600 private forested acres. They determined the cause of the fire to be equipment use. โ€œAs dry conditions persist this fall, we urge everyone to be extremely cautious when operating any equipment near dry grass or vegetation,โ€ MFC officials said. โ€œIt only takes one spark to start a devastating wildfire.โ€
