First responders battled a grass fire that broke out in Jackson County on Tuesday afternoon.
The grass fire was at the old Mississippi Phosphates gypsum dome site, near the Port of Pascagoula off Industrial Road.
Jackson County Emergency Management Director Earl Etheridge said the fire spanned 70 acres.
As of 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, the fire was 100% contained, according to Etheridge. A separate fire also broke out inside one of the wood pellet domes at the Port of Pascagoula on Tuesday.
