VIDEO: On Sunday, November 16th, just before noon, a structure fire at the CN rail facility on the 200 block of S. 37th Avenue W. was reported. Crews from Downtown, Lincoln Park, Duluth Heights, and Spirit Valley arrived to find a maintenance shed on top of the structure on the property fully involved in fire.
A water supply was secured and 1 Tower was able to draft additional water out of the bay as a back-up water source. Crews were able to keep the shed fire from spreading to the ore docks or other property structures.
No injuries were reported, but damages to the maintenance shed is estimated to be $60,000 dollars. The incident is currently under investigation by the Duluth Fire Marshalโs office, and further details will be released when available.
