Pequaywan Township house fire leads to large emergency response

A house fire in Pequaywan Township led to a large emergency response and significant damage to the home. According to the St. Louis County Sheriffโ€™s office, crews were sent to a home on Pequaywan Lake Road in Pequaywan township around 6:55 p.m. after reports that a fire had started near a wood burning stove in the basement.

The homeowner was able to get out of the house with their two dogs and was assessed for smoke inhalation. The home suffered heavy damage from the fire.

Fire departments from Pequaywan, Lakewood, Normanna, Air Guard, Rice Lake and Brimson Townships responded, along with Mayo Clinic Ambulance.
