PHOTOS: Firefighters in Elk River responded to a fuel tanker that caught on fire Tuesday evening. The fire was reported around 6:48 p.m. near 186th Avenue Northwest and Ivanhoe Street, with firefighters asking residents to avoid the area while they worked to put out the fire.
Efforts to extinguish the fire and cool down fuel tanks lasted for around three hours, with the Elk River Fire Department announcing the blaze had been extinguished around 10 p.m. At this time, a cause for the fire has not been stated โ no injuries were reported.
The fire will be investigated, and a fuel spill clean-up has been coordinated with the Pollution Control Agency and the Minnesota State Fire Marshal.
