Two people were seriously injured in a campfire explosion in Todd County over the weekend. According to the Todd County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded just before 6:30 p.m. Saturday to a report of a fire-related accident involving serious injuries in rural Cushing.
An investigation determined that the explosion happened when a can of gasoline caught fire, injuring a 34-year-old man who was attempting to start a campfire and a nearby 65-year-old. Both of them sustained burns and were hospitalized. The incident remains under investigation.
