VIDEO: Overloaded electrical appliances are believed to be the cause of a garage fire in Albert Lea. Thatโs according to Albert Lea Fire Rescue. Crews responded to the blaze on Elm Street just after 6:30 Tuesday evening.
A two-stall detached garage was engulfed, and the fire was threatening a house. Crews put out the fire quickly and no one was hurt.
Some siding on the house melted. The garage and its contents were heavily damaged. Damage is estimated at $80,000. Crews were on the scene for about an hour putting out hot spots and determining the cause of the fire.
