Two people have been displaced after an apartment fire in Duluth Sunday. According to the Duluth Fire Department, just before 9 p.m. on Sunday, crews responded to a report of a structure fire on the 2200 block of Piedmont Avenue. Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke coming from an apartment that is above a commercial building. Authorities say the apartment tenants were able to self-evacuate safely. Crews were able to quickly knock down the fire. No injuries were reported. Two residents were displaced due to the fire, which is estimated to have caused $80,000 in damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
