Mom, daughter confirmed dead after fire destroys home in Jackson County

PHOTOS: Two women are dead after the fire that broke out early Sunday morning in Napoleon Township. In an update late Monday morning, Napoleon Twp. Fire Department officials confirmed the two victims who were pulled from the burning home on Brooklyn Road near M-50 were killed.

Officials identified the victims as 76-year-old Sandra Miracle and her daughter, 50-year-old Susan Miracle. They were both pronounced dead at the scene, despite life-saving measures.

Authorities did not immediately release a cause of death. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The Summit/Jackson Firefighters Union previously said Sunday on Facebook that firefighters with the Jackson Fire Department helped respond to the scene and were assigned to search for victims. The two victims were located inside the home, but no further details were released at the time.
