Life EMS Ambulance’s ‘Camp 911’ in Oshtemo teaches kids emergency preparedness and safety

PHOTOS: Life EMS Ambulance’s Camp 911 hosts interactive experience for kids to learn about safety and how to react in emergencies. Kids from ages 9 through 11 were welcomed to the Oshtemo Fire Department Wednesday morning to participate in a day camp hosted by Life EMS Ambulance and local fire and sheriff’s departments.

The single-day camp offers interactive opportunities for students to get hands-on experience with CPR, summer-focused water and boat safety, and first aid with K-9 dogs, taught by Life EMS Ambulance paramedics, local law enforcement, and fire department personnel. “We’d love if some of our students today became future paramedics or firefighters, or police officers,” Life EMS Ambulance Director of South Operations John Pinkster said. “โ€ฆbut, today, the goal is awareness.”
