Jeff Moyle Watercross Race supports Lake Linden’s new fire hall project

VIDEO: Six years ago, Lake Linden’s Fire Department brought an exciting event to the community: watercross. It’s a unique motor sport where snowmobiles are raced on the water. Through the event, the fire department raised enough funds to support a new fire hall.

This year’s 6th Annual Jeff Moyle Watercross race continues to grow on the International Watercross Association’s (IWA) circuit. Lake Linden firefighter and IWA racer James Marietta said this year’s race weekend has already filled the Hancock Recreation Area campground. “It’s been gaining traction here. Every year it gets bigger and the cool part is, this year the IWA is seeing some of the biggest numbers it has in the last 20 years,” Marietta said. “The racing has been competitive. The community supports this also; they love it. It brings a lot of money into your local town.”
