Grand Haven’s Fourth of July fireworks show was interrupted on Friday night due to a fire, the Grand Haven Musical Fountain said on Facebook. The musical fountain said during the show, a fire broke out on the north shoreline and spread fast, surrounding a full bank of fireworks.
Thanks to the on-site firefighters and pyrotechnic crew, the fire was contained quickly and safely. However, the musical fountain said that in the process, a key electronic firing unit was damaged. The system then shut down, doing what it’s designed to do to protect the crew. The show was paused with about one and a half minutes to go, and once it was safe to do so, the team bypassed the affected zone and finished the finale without the music.
