VIDEO: Bricks were still smoking on Flint’s northside after a devastating fire swept through the area, leaving behind only debris where three homes once stood. The homes, located on East Hamilton between Bonbright St. and Francis Ave., were owned by private individuals and the Genesee County Land Bank, according to Flint Property Portal records.
The fire was one of several that occurred Wednesday night in Flint, including another at a former Boost Mobile in Flint Township. Flint City Councilwoman Tonya Burns expressed concern over the strain these incidents place on the community and the safety risks they pose. “Not only is it devastating, but it’s dangerous. It’s dangerous for the neighbors,” she said.
At this time, it remains unclear whether the fires were intentionally set. Burns urged residents to report suspicious activity, advising, “If you see someone looking around days before, often they will case the property. Call 911. Don’t put yourself in danger.”
