The Cheboygan County Sheriff’s Office said a home in Topinabee that caught on fire over the weekend, killing two elderly homeowners, had a combination of electric, kerosene and propane heaters inside. Investigators have not determined the cause of the fire yet.
The fire was located at 183 Eagles Nest Road. Emergency services received reports of the fire on November 1 at approximately 3:07 p.m. on Saturday.
Upon arrival, firefighters said they found the north end of the residence fully engulfed in flames. No individuals were found outside the residence, and it is believed that both residents died in the fire.
