VIDEOS: A woman and her two kids had to jump off their balcony after a fire broke out right outside their apartment door last Thursday morning. In Ring doorbell video provided to News 8 by Jennifer Diederiks, a chaotic scene unfolds.
Diederiksโ neighbors across the hall can be seen taking burning items from their apartment to the hallway, as the fire continues to grow inside. It all started around 7:30 Thursday morning at Breton Court Apartments.
โJust panic,โ she said. โWe go to open the door and flames come rushing at the door. You always have a plan, but it never goes the way you plan it to.โ
Shortly after, those neighbors began pounding on Diederiksโ door telling her to call 911. From there, Diederiks said she did but could not get out the front door, so the next best option to get to safety was her balcony, two stories up.
