Dog Killed in Bangor Township Fire

PHOTOS: A dog is dead after a fire at a mobile home early Sunday morning, according to South Haven Area Emergency Services (SHAES). The fire sparked around 5 a.m. in Bangor Township on County Road 687, investigators said.

Two people woke up and smelled smoke, according to firefighters. Moments later, they found a fire surrounding a window air conditioning unit. They both got out safely, along with one of their dogs, but the other one died in the fire. The home was fully engulfed by the time firefighters got there, SHAES officials said. No word yet on the cause of the fire.
