VIDEO: No one was injured but a Jenison business was damaged when a fire broke out overnight Wednesday. The fire began at Nu Wool, an insulation manufacturing facility, around 2:30 a.m. Crews quickly called for additional help to battle the fire. Authorities say the fire mostly impacted the east side of the building and caused “extensive damage.” Crews battled the fire for several hours and even cut a trench into the roof to have better access to the fire. “We have two drones up so we could split our crews on both sides of the building and be able to get a good visual where the fire is, and that helps us get to the fire and get it out quicker,” said Georgetown Township Fire Chief Matt DeWitt. Employees were inside the building when the fire began, but everyone was able to evacuate. No one was injured. Crews remained at the scene Wednesday morning to put out hotspots. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
