City of Alpena Welcomes New Fire Chief Andy Marceau

VIDEO: The City of Alpena is proud to announce the appointment of Andrew L. Marceau as the new Fire Chief of the Alpena Fire Department. Chief Marceau brings more than 27 years of fire service experience to his new role. Prior to this appointment, he served as Deputy Chief and Community Risk Reduction Officer, where he focused extensively on safety outreach and ensuring the department’s operational readiness.

In a recent statement, Fire Chief Andy Marceau said, “We have great people. I just want to continue that growth. Continue that great respect that the community has for AFD. You know, we are a big fire department for northern Michigan. We are 30 strong. And I want the people to know that we’re here for them and we’re here to serve.”

Chief Marceau officially took his oath of office during the Alpena Municipal Council meeting on Monday, marking the beginning of his leadership in serving and protecting the community. Residents can look forward to continued dedication and commitment from the Alpena Fire Department under Chief Marceau’s guidance.
