A late-night fire in Oscoda Township that impacted several homes is believed to have started from a candle that was too close to some drapes. The fire began around 11:10 p.m. at a home in the 6500 block of Loud Drive.
Firefighters quickly began to evacuate the home, and the homes on either side, according to the Oscoda Fire Department. Three houses suffered damage, with one being a total loss. It took firefighters 3 hours to extinguish the blaze. One firefighter had to be treated on scene for smoke inhalation.
