Firefighters responded to a structure fire in Chicopee Monday and at least one person was rescued. Western Mass News was on scene at around 1 p.m. Monday along with Chicopee firefighters. Flames could be seen engulfing a house in the area of School Street and Dwight Street. The Chicopee Police Department closed Dwight St. from Cabot St. to School St. Our crew on scene could see a person being rescued from the second-floor of the home by firefighters as flames and thick, black smoke bellowed out. No word yet if there were any other individuals in the house at the time the fire erupted or if any injuries have occurred.
