Nine Plymouth Firefighters Graduate from Massachusetts Firefighting Academy

PHOTOS: Chief Neil Foley is pleased to announce that nine Plymouth firefighters graduated from the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy on Friday. Firefighters Matthew Basler, Joshua Batres, Gareth Brown, Anthony DePasquale, Kevin Disher, Gregory Lapollo, Jonathan License, Joseph Pravati and Andrew Smith were among the 36 graduates in the Career Recruit Firefighter Training Program Class #329. During the 50-day training program, participants receive classroom training in all basic firefighter skills. They practice first under non-fire conditions and then during controlled fire conditions. The graduates are now certified at the level of Firefighter I and II and in hazardous material operations. โ€œMassachusetts firefighters are on the frontlines protecting their communities every day, and todayโ€™s graduates are needed now more than ever,โ€ said State Fire Marshal Jon M. Davine.
