Firefighters from East Bridgewater and Easton were recognized for saving a five-year-old boy from a drowning incident on July 4. The East Bridgewater Fire Department said it received a call around 4 p.m. from a house on Fieldcrest Drive reporting that a child had possibly drowned and was in the process of receiving CPR.
According to the department, three Easton firefighters who happened to be on scene performed CPR on the boy and were able to revive him. Shortly after, East Bridgewater firefighters arrived to the scene and began to provide additional care. Crews carried the boy to an ambulance, who officials said was conscious and โdisplayed good vital signs.โ He was taken to South Shore Hospital for evaluation, then transported to Boston Childrenโs Hospital for overnight evaluation. He was discharged the next day.
