VIDEO: A fire broke out late Tuesday night at a scrap metal recycling facility in Freetown. The Freetown Fire Department says firefighters were called to Excel Recycling on Ridge Hill Road just after 11 p.m. for a reported fire and arrived to find a large pile of shredded material burning on the south side of the facility.
Crews worked to battle the flames and protect the building that houses the “shredder,” the fire department said. It took four hours for firefighters to fully extinguish and overhaul the fire. There were no injuries, according to the fire department. It’s unclear what led to the fire.
