Dog killed in 3-alarm fire at multi-family Boston home, fire department says

VIDEO/PHOTOS: A dog was killed in a three-alarm fire at a multi-family home in Dorchester Tuesday evening, the Boston Fire Department said. The fire began at approximately 7:30 p.m. in the basement of the home, which is located at 15 Bruce Street in Dorchester. The fire traveled up from the basement, through the building, and up to the roof, Boston Deputy Fire Chief Gerard Viola said. “Firefighters made a quick, aggressive attack,” Viola said. “Very stubborn fire, very difficult with the power lines in front of the building.” Five adults, two children, and two other dogs living at the home were displaced. No one was injured in the fire. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
