A possible lightning strike left two people hurt at a home in Burlington on Tuesday night, fire officials said. A man was burned and a woman had smoke inhalation after the incident at a Cutting Lane home, reported about 8:13 p.m., according to the Burlington Fire Department. Firefighters saw smoke coming from a side of the house and its garage, but no flames, the department said, and found an irrigation system control pad that may have been hit by lightning. The only damage was garage window framing that was burned as well as wire damage, but power was turned off to the house, officials said. The condition of the two people, who were taken to a local hospital, wasn’t immediately available.
