Officials said the fire was reported around 8:40 a.m., prompting a response from the Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department and several surrounding departments. When fire crews arrived, the situation was quickly escalated to a two-alarm fire due to reports of entrapment. Officials said that six total people died in the incident. All six lived at the dwelling, along with three others – one of whom escaped, while the other two were not home when the fire broke out. No evidence of criminal activity has been reported related to the fire, though investigators continue to look into what caused the blaze.
