Fire seen burning out of high-rise window in Prince George’s County

VIDEO: Two adults were taken to the hospital after a fire broke out in a high-rise building in Prince Georgeโ€™s County on Monday night.

Around 9:30 p.m., Prince Georgeโ€™s County Fire/EMS Department responded to the 3200 block of Curtis Drive in Hillcrest Heights.

Upon arrival, crews saw flames emitting from the 4th floor of an 8-story multi-family dwelling. Video taken by the fire department shows the fire through a window with smoky objects falling.

Crews were able to put the fire out, and EMS evaluated individuals.

One adult was transported in critical condition to the hospital as a cardiac patient. Meanwhile, another adult was transported in serious but not life-threatening condition after slipping down the steps during the evacuation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
