VIDEO: The Cambridge Rescue Fire Company is doing their part this week to help educate kids about fire safety.
Firefighters are visiting Dorchester County schools to teach them how to react if theyโre ever caught in a fire.
Theyโre going to be capping it all off this Friday at the Cambridge Goodwill, allowing kids to see the trucks and equipment up close.
Fire officials say itโs important to get to the kids now, and potentially get them involved in the fire service when theyโre older.
โThatโs what weโre trying to do here is try and encourage young minds and young volunteers to be able to come down and check it out and get involved. Or maybe they just say, ‘Hey, I want to go hang out.’ And they may encourage their parents to join and come down and help. So weโre always looking for volunteersโฆโ says Rescue Fire Captain, Rob Travers.
