Cambridge Rescue Fire Company Hosts Fire Safety Week

VIDEO: The Cambridge Rescue Fire Company is doing their part this week to help educate kids about fire safety.

Firefighters are visiting Dorchester County schools to teach them how to react if theyโ€™re ever caught in a fire.

Theyโ€™re going to be capping it all off this Friday at the Cambridge Goodwill, allowing kids to see the trucks and equipment up close.

Fire officials say itโ€™s important to get to the kids now, and potentially get them involved in the fire service when theyโ€™re older.

โ€œThatโ€™s what weโ€™re trying to do here is try and encourage young minds and young volunteers to be able to come down and check it out and get involved. Or maybe they just say, ‘Hey, I want to go hang out.’ And they may encourage their parents to join and come down and help. So weโ€™re always looking for volunteersโ€ฆโ€ says Rescue Fire Captain, Rob Travers.
