
House fire in Prince George’s County kills woman, injures 2 men

On Sunday, crews with the Prince George’s County Fire Department were called to the 900 block of Somerset Place in Chillum, Maryland, just after 9:30 a.m.

Police say Quinto was burning personal papers and cardboard in the back of his yard in a burn barrel. He used gasoline to accelerate the fire in the barrel and the fire erupted.

Around 2:40 Sunday morning, a passerby noticed heavy smoke and flames coming from a home on Old Ocean City Road in Parsonburg.

The Baltimore City Fire Department responded to the 3800 block of Boarman Avenue at 5:22 a.m. Saturday for reports of a fire.

The Ocean Pines Association Board of Directors unanimously approved a construction contract for a new fire station on the community’s south side.

The pair were asleep in an upstairs bedroom when the fire broke out just after midnight Monday, according to Maryland State Fire Marshal officials.

Montgomery County fire officials say it started in the attic around 6:45 Sunday evening. They’re looking into whether the fireplace is to blame.

Crews worked quickly to extinguish the blaze. Five people were taken from the home and evaluated by medical personnel, but declined to be taken to the hospital.
