Portland firefighter injured, boat sinks in waterfront fire

VIDEO: Portland fire crews have knocked down a large fire on Commercial Street that sunk a boat and heavily damaged a building on the Custom House Wharf Friday night. The Portland Fire Department responded to the three-alarm fire near Maritime Antiques around 5:30 p.m.

By 9:30, officials had contained the flames and were assessing damage. Central Maine Power is also on the scene working to restore power to the area. According to Deputy Chief John Hendricks, one firefighter sustained minor injuries. Weโ€™re told the fire also damaged and sunk one boat on the waterfront. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
