The St. Tammany Parish Fire Department Protection District No. 1 responded to a large house fire in Slidell Tuesday night. Firefighters battled the blaze at a home off North Boulevard. Fire officials said that the family was able to escape the fire thanks to smoke detectors in the home. No injuries were reported in the fire.
