VIDEO/PHOTOS: A fire that broke out Thursday morning in multiple units at the abandoned Villa Norte Apartments in Shreveport is the second fire at the complex this year. It’s possible someone was squatting inside Villa Norte when the fire started, Shreveport police Cpl. Chris Bordelon said. When KTBS 3 arrived at the complex, firefighters had just knocked down the flames — only a few hot spots were left. It took 18 units and nearly 40 firefighters to get the blaze under control. “Engine 1 arrived on scene and found one unit burning in the front of the complex. But then smoke started coming from two more units in the back. So, three units total were fully involved,” said Daniel McDonnell, SFD PIO.
