A roof collapsed at a home in Baton Rouge while crews were working to battle a fire on Monday, April 28. According to the Baton Rouge Fire Department, crews responded around 3:30 p.m. to the home on North 28th Street near Gracie Street. When firefighters arrived at the scene, they discovered flames and smoke coming from the side of the home. Crews entered the structure and began fighting the fire but had to back off when the roof came down. There were no injuries reported, but two residents have been displaced. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The home has been declared a total loss.
