VIDEO: The abandoned Oak Meadows Apartments in Shreveport were once again on fire Wednesday morning. Around 6:00 am, the Shreveport Fire Department responded to the apartment complex. It took 24 firefighters to bring the flames under control. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is still under investigation. According to Jeffrey Witte, Fire Prevention Officer with SFD, firefighters continue to remain busy at this location. Witte says approximately ten fires have occurred at the abandoned property in the past 6 months. Wednesday’s fire is the 5th time in 2025 a fire has occurred at Oak Meadows. SFD urges the public to remain vigilant regarding vacant or abandoned properties within their communities. They say all suspicious activities should be reported to authorities immediately. Doing so may decrease the likelihood of a fire or other emergency from occurring.
