First responders experience vehicle extrication training in Bowling Green

The Pinnacle Financial Partners of Bowling Green partnered with the National Auto Body Council (NABC) to bring for their first responder emergency education program to Bowling Green.

As hyper cars and electric vehicles gain popularity, their advanced technology can present significant dangers, making rescue efforts more complex for first responders; which is why modern advanced training is key.

This program offers first responders hands-on training, teaching them how to safely and efficiently remove victims from crashed vehicles. This includes crucial instruction on using advanced tools like the Jaws of Life.

โ€œYou donโ€™t want somebody on the side of the road in the middle of the night when youโ€™re trapped in a car Googling how to cut into your vehicle,โ€ explains Alan Scrimmager, a board of director member for the National Auto Body Council.

โ€œBy having hands-on training with the equipment that they use at the fire department, they get to learn how to get somebody out, how to take care of them, how to protect the victim and themselves, and do it as efficiently as possible.โ€

Scrimmager emphasizes that this training is critical for all fire departments, especially volunteer ones.
