Three pets rescued from house fire in Hutchinson, one dog given oxygen

The Hutchinson Fire Department responded to a call of a house fire on Halsey Dr. on Saturday, August 16. Firefighters found that a majority of the fire was coming from the backside of the home. Firefighters quickly controlled the fire while another crew entered the home and searched inside.

Three pets were found inside the house and rescued. One of the dogs had to be given oxygen due to smoke and heat from inside the home. Crews had the fire under controlled after about 30 minutes from the time of the initial call. The homeowners were not home at the time of the fire, and there were no injures reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
