The Dodge City Fire Department said three people were killed Sunday morning in a fire that involved two trailer homes and three vehicles. The fire department received a call at 9:37 a.m. Sunday morning for a structure fire in the area of McArtor St. and Agnes St. One of the trailers was already fully engulfed in flames.
Crews worked to contain and put out the fire, preventing it from spreading further. The Dodge City Police Department is currently interviewing family members to gather information to identify those in the fire.
The fire has been put out, but a Dodge City Fire Department engine will remain on scene to monitor any potential flare-ups and to assist the Kansas State Fire Marshal’s Office once they arrive. The State Fire Marshal’s Office is on the way to conduct a full investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
