Crews extinguished a car fire Wednesday morning just east of Topeka. The blaze was reported at 7:48 a.m. Wednesday in the 2300 block of S.E. Alexander Drive. Officials said crews from the Shawnee Heights Fire District responded to the scene, where a vehicle was on fire in the homeโs driveway. Crews extinguished the blaze, though S.E. Alexander Drive in the vicinity of the blaze was closed from around 7:48 a.m. until 8:39 a.m. Wednesday. There were no immediate reports of injuries. The street was closed from approximately 7:48 a.m. until 8:39 a.m. The vehicle was damaged.
