Suspect caught after fire at Mason City Family Aquatic Center

The Mason City Fire Department responded to a small fire at the Mason City Family Aquatic Center Friday morning. Fire crews quickly extinguished the blaze on the 800 block of Birch Drive, noticing new graffiti and liquids poured on the concrete.

The Mason City Police Department and the fire department investigated, resulting in an arrest. There were no injuries reported. Mason City Parks and Recreation Department helped clean the area, allowing the aquatic center to open on time. Mason City police and firefighters want to remind residents to report suspicious activities.
