Firefighters responded to a fire that began outside of Kingsley, Iowa, on Sunday, Oct. 12. According to Brandon Sitzmann, the Chief of the Kingsley Fire Department, the fire began in a ditch at C-60 and Noble Ave., northwest of Kingsley, Iowa. Firefighters say it burned around 50 acres, spreading north.
Chief Sitzmann tells KTIV, Kingsley firefighters responded to the scene around 2 p.m. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is still undetermined. Fire departments from Hinton, Le Mars, and Merrill were called to the scene to help firefighters at the scene.
On the Kingsley Fire Departmentโs Facebook Page, the department provided the following statement.
