VIDEO: Firefighters in Davenport were called to a fire early Thursday morning that they believe was intentionally set. The Davenport Fire Department responded to Celebrityโs Beauty Supply on Harrison Street for a fire alarm on August 14 at about 4:19 a.m. They responded with three engines, two ladder trucks, one District Chief and 16 personnel. When fire crews arrived, they found the building dark with light smoke throughout the main floor and broken glass on the front of the building. The buildingโs sprinkler system activated and extinguished the fire.
Firefighters set up fans to ventilate the structure and searched the business. They determined the building was unoccupied at the time of the fire. Crews remained on the scene for over an hour to ensure the fire was completely extinguished and to investigate the cause of the fire. Medic EMS of Scott County stood by but no injuries to occupants or firefighters were reported. Fire investigators have determined this fire to be intentionally set and the incident remains under investigation.
