Cat dies in Burlington apartment fire

One cat was killed in a four-plex apartment building fire Monday night. According to the Burlington Fire Department, crews arrived at 6:54 p.m. to 3750 Old Highway 61 in rural Union Township. Officials said when crews arrived they could see flames coming from one of the units in the complex.

Residents were able to evacuate but officials said one cat died due to the fire. Officials said the fire was contained to one apartment and no residents or firefighters were injured. The cause of the fire in under investigation.
