Retired Evansville firetruck gets new life in street cleanup

A retired fire engine from the Evansville Fire Department is now serving a new purpose with the city’s Street Maintenance Department. The repurposed truck will be involved in community cleanup efforts, including projects like Dress Plaza. Although the truck has new markings, amber lights, and no siren, it remains the same reliable engine. This initiative highlights the city’s commitment to maximizing resources and ensuring taxpayer dollars are efficiently utilized.
