Kids rescue beloved neighbor from house fire in Blackford County

VIDEO/PHOTOS: When a group of kids happened to look out the window towards their next-door neighbor, they noticed her home engulfed in flames. Luckily, their quick action allowed them to pull her from the blaze, saving her life.

Nina Osgood has been looking after the five children for about 12 years, while their mother, Keshia Gerber, had to work. Due to the nature of her job, she works long, odd hours, so Nina offered to step in and help the family.

โ€œSheโ€™s amazing,โ€ said Gerber, โ€œThat lady would give the shirt off her backโ€ฆ She does everything for me and my kids.โ€ Sunday afternoon, the children noticed bright flames extending from Osgoodโ€™s window.

9-year-old Brenna Fields noticed the smoke from her kitchen, and called over her 11-year-old brother, Reese Fields, and her 8-year-old cousin, Grant Cosner to help her rescue Osgood.
