PHOTOS: A member of the Hamilton Township Volunteer Fire Department was injured while responding to a mobile home fire on Tuesday. In a Facebook post, HTVFD indicated that its crews were dispatched to Country Acres Mobile Home Park โ which is located in the 9500 block of North Wheeling Avenue in Delaware County โ around 10:51 a.m.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, they found a mobile home that was filled with smoke. When crews entered the mobile home, they determined the fire was small and contained to one room. After the flames were extinguished, crews determined that an unattended candle likely started the fire. HTVFD confirmed that one of its firefighters sustained an ankle injury while responding to the fire. That firefighter was transported to IU Ball Memorial Hospital.
