Controlled burn at Eagle Marsh sends thick smoke across area

VIDEO: Concerned netizens and passersby have been buzzing about a giant fire and cloud of smoke near Eagle Marsh on Monday. Little River Wetlands posted on their Facebook page, warning of the controlled burn on Monday that began around 12 p.m. and will last until later into the evening.

The post explains that the burning of dry brush is to manage plant species on the Eagle Marsh preserves. Fort Wayneโ€™s dispatch confirmed that the concerning cloud of smoke is part of a controlled burn in the Eagle Marsh area.
