VIDEOS: Large fire destroys Joliet area facility

A firefighter was injured while battling a large fire at a facility in the Joliet area Monday morning. The fire broke out at about 4 a.m. at Rovanco Piping Systems on a frontage road near I-55 in unincorporated Joliet. Video sent to ABC7 by a witness showed huge flames coming from the factory. Chopper7 flew above the scene, where the facility appeared leveled with flames continuing to burn. Troy Fire Protection District Chief Paul Hertzmann said employees arrived at the business, found smoke and called 9-11. A fire crew entered the building to try and protect an office area when the celling collapsed, causing a firefighter from a neighboring department to be injured. The firefighter suffered burn injuries to the wrist and forehead and was transported to a hospital in stable condition.
