Residents displaced after house becomes heavily engulfed in flames, damages 2 other homes in Lindenhurst

PHOTOS: Residents were displaced after flames quickly engulfed a new construction house, leaving it a total loss, and damaging two other adjacent homes in Lindenhurst Tuesday morning. The Lake Villa Fire Protection District responded around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday to the 800 block of Summer Lane in Lindenhurst for a report of a structure fire.

Lake Villa Fire Protection District Battalion Chief Kevin Johnson said the initial call indicated a garage fire. Heavy black smoke could be seen billowing into the sky. Fire crews arrived to find heavy fire conditions in a single-family residence, which was well involved in flames, Johnson said. Fire crews also noted that both adjacent homes to the fire building were at risk of catching on fire. The incident was upgraded and the Grayslake, Round Lake, Fox Lake, Antioch and Newport fire departments responded to the scene to assist. The Gurnee and Libertyville fire departments covered Lake Villaโ€™s fire station.
