PHOTOS: Residents were left displaced after a fire broke out and damaged a garage and a townhome, prompting multiple fire departments to respond, in Lake Zurich Saturday morning. The Lake Zurich Fire Rescue Department responded around 7:07 a.m. Saturday to the 100 block of Rosehall Drive in Lake Zurich for a report of a structure fire.
A 911 caller reported that the garage of a townhome was on fire and an evacuation was in progress. Lake Zurich Fire Rescue Department Fire Chief David Pilgard said firefighters arrived in three minutes and found an active fire in the garage. The townhomes were evacuated and everyone was accounted for. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire within 5-10 minutes, Pilgard said. The Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS) was activated to the box alarm level to bring additional fire departments to the scene.
