A huge house fire was reported in the 1500 block of Lake Drive in Morris around 1:30 Monday morning. The Morris Fire Department said the garage and attic space were on fire, which also extended into the second floor of the house.
Morris Fire officials said two adults and six kids along with eight pets were inside the house as they were able to escape. One adult was treated on scene, but no injuries were reported. The house has been deemed uninhabitable, and the fire is under investigation by MABAS Division 15 Fire investigators. The Morris Fire Department was assisted by Channahon, Minooka, Coal City, Wilmington, Braidwood, Dwight, Seneca, Plainfield, Elwood, Braceville and Troy during the blaze. The Morris Police Department and Grundy County Emergency Management Agency also provided assistance on scene.
